Why KC Cockapoos
Everything we do is built around the puppy, not the profit.
We're a small family breeder — not a business. Here's what that looks like in practice.
Health-tested parents
Every parent dog is fully DNA and clinically health screened above and beyond the highest Kennel Club standards before being part of our breeding programme.
Raised in our home
Our puppies are born in our bedroom and raised underfoot in a busy family kitchen — never in kennels or outbuildings.
Temperament first
We breed for calm, confident, people-loving puppies who thrive with families, children and first-time owners alike.
Transparent & ethical
Full contracts, vet records, parent introductions and an open invitation to visit. No surprises, ever.
Only a few litters a year
We deliberately keep numbers small. Every mum is a treasured family pet first, a mother second.
Lifetime support
We're here for the whole journey — training questions, grooming advice, life updates — for the lifetime of your dog.

Our Story
A family, a few much-loved dogs, and a quiet passion for getting it right.
We're Karol and Colin, and KC Cockapoos began the way most good things do — with one very loved family dog. Over a decade later, our home (and our hearts) are still full of cockapoos and poodles, and we share our days with our children, our dogs, and the puppies who pass through on their way to becoming part of other families.
We deliberately stay small. Our mums are family pets first and foremost; they each have a maximum of four litters in their lifetime, and they retire here with us. Every puppy is raised in the heart of our home, surrounded by the noise, cuddles and chaos of normal family life — exactly what sets them up to thrive in yours.
KC Cockapoos shares the same ethical standards as our sister programme, KC Poodles. Different breed, same family, same commitment to doing things properly.
Our Cockapoos

Health & Responsible Breeding
What Ethically Bred Means to Us
Exceptional health, temperament, and breed quality are not achieved by chance—they are the result of thoughtful stewardship, rigorous standards, and an unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of every dog we breed.
Every parent dog within our programme undergoes comprehensive DNA screening and breed-specific health testing before being considered for breeding. We adhere to the latest Kennel Club and breed club recommendations, and many of our dogs are second- and third-generation hereditary clear, ensuring their puppies cannot inherit certain tested genetic conditions. Complete health documentation is available for prospective owners to review.
Our breeding decisions are guided by far more than pedigree alone. We carefully select breeding pairs for their health, temperament, structure, and overall quality, with the aim of preserving and improving the breed for future generations. The welfare of our dogs is always paramount, with the highest standards of veterinary care, nutrition, enrichment, exercise, and socialisation provided throughout their lives.
Our puppies are raised with intention and care in a nurturing environment designed to give them the very best start. We take great care in matching each puppy with the right family and remain a source of support long after they leave our home.
For us, ethical breeding is defined by transparency, responsibility, and an enduring commitment to every dog we produce—from carefully planned bloodlines to lifelong support for the families who welcome them home.

How We Raise Them
Puppy Culture protocols, raised the holistic way.
We raise our puppies using much of the Puppy Culture method — a structured, evidence-based programme designed to produce confident, resilient, well-socialised dogs.
Raised in our home (with all the chaos of real life!)
Toilet training from 3 weeks — 99% trained to a litter tray before leaving
Desensitised to sounds — fireworks, traffic, vacuuming — using the Dog Sounds CD
Positive repeated exposure to grooming, nail clipping and ear cleaning.
Weaned onto a high quality raw food for optimum gut health, and a robust immune system, and then re- weaned onto a dry food for convenience, in their new home. Raw feeding advice happily given if you would like to pursue this method
Raised as holistically as possible, without unnecessary chemical intervention

Testimonials
Kind words from our puppy families.

"We bought our beautiful Cockapoo, Frankie, from Karol a year ago, and she has brought so much joy to our lives. From the very beginning, it was clear how much care and dedication Karol puts into her puppies. The vetting process was thorough and reassuring, showing that she genuinely wants the very best homes for them. Since bringing Frankie home, we've lost count of the number of compliments we've received about her. People regularly comment on her lovely temperament, intelligence and lovable character. She is healthy, happy, full of personality and keeps us laughing every day. Frankie has become such a cherished member of our family — our little monkey — and we honestly couldn't imagine life without her. We are so grateful to Karol for giving us such a wonderful dog and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a Cockapoo puppy."

"We got our puppy from Karol in 2020 and were very impressed with the initial interview and her understanding of why and what — and most of all the choice of breed of dog. It was obvious not just anybody was getting the privilege of having one of her babies. Our puppy, now 6 years old and called Marley, is the best thing that has been part of our family. He's very loyal and very obedient — which comes with training like any pet — but extremely intelligent and runs rings round us! Going back to the breeder, most definitely the best ever and we would always go back in the future. In the last 6 years Karol has always been a blessing — helpful with questions and queries — once one of her babies, then always the care and attention, no matter what. I hope that's enough for anybody wishing to be part of the extending family."

"We cannot recommend Karol and Colin highly enough. From our very first interaction, it was clear how much love, care and dedication they put into their dogs and puppies. One thing we particularly appreciated was how thoroughly they vetted prospective owners. Rather than simply finding homes, they were committed to finding the right homes, and we had enormous respect for the values and standards they upheld throughout the process. The level of communication and support we received was exceptional. From the day the litter was born, we were kept updated through a dedicated Facebook group where we could follow the puppies' journey and development. Even now, it is wonderful to stay connected with our dog's siblings and their owners. When we visited to choose our puppy, we were welcomed warmly into their home and met both parents of our dog as well as their other dogs, which gave us great confidence in the breeding programme and the environment the puppies were being raised in. The desensitisation and socialisation work they do is outstanding — our dog is incredibly relaxed and confident around everyday noises and situations, and is completely unfazed by fireworks. What really sets them apart is the ongoing support they provide. The aftercare is second to none — no matter how much time has passed, Karol is always available to answer questions, offer advice and provide reassurance. Most importantly, we have the most incredible dog: kind, confident, loving and wonderfully natured. Thank you for everything."

"We couldn't be happier with our experience of buying a puppy from Karol. From the very beginning, it was clear that she truly cares about her dogs and the homes they go to. Our F1 Cockapoo, Mylo, has been an absolute joy, and a large part of that is down to the exceptional start he was given. Karol provided full and detailed information about Mylo's parents and lineage, which gave us great confidence in both his health and temperament. Throughout the first eight weeks, Karol maintained fantastic transparency via her Facebook group, regularly sharing photos and updates of the newborn litter and their environment. When we collected Mylo, we were given a comprehensive care pack along with detailed guidance, which made settling him in much easier. What really sets Karol apart, though, is the continued support. The Facebook group remains an invaluable resource, and Karol is always available with advice and encouragement whenever needed. We would wholeheartedly recommend Karol to anyone looking for a happy, healthy puppy from a breeder who truly goes above and beyond."

"Getting a lifelong fur-friend from Karol is one of the best decisions anyone could make. Not only do you receive top-notch guidance and support, but you also bring home a well-rounded, top-calibre dog that has clearly had the very best start in life. From the moment you first make contact, right through to long after your puppy comes home, the experience is second to none. Karol genuinely loves her dogs and every puppy she breeds, and that care doesn't stop when they leave her home. We got our first Cockapoo from Karol in 2023, and the experience was so positive that we returned for another at the end of 2025. The dogs she breeds are absolutely beautiful, with the most wonderful temperaments. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Karol to anyone looking for a puppy. Once you've had a dog from Karol, you simply wouldn't want to go anywhere else."

"I did a lot of research before I bought my first cockapoo — Poppy. I wanted a puppy that was socialised in a home environment and one that was house trained and well handled. With Karol that was exactly what I got. I was also satisfied that my puppy was well bred and was able to meet both of the parents. When I wanted a second dog there was no question — I went straight back to Karol and chose Lily. Poppy is now 10 and Lily is 7. They are beautiful, healthy, happy dogs that have added so much to my life. I absolutely recommend Karol as a breeder."

"Our furball is 10 this year. Life just wouldn't be the same without him. He is a fantastic family pooch and he loves his pink siblings — especially the youngest, who believes he is always in need of a snack or treat. I'm glad we found Karol all those years ago, although when he first came home we did wonder whether we'd adopted a ginger ninja who would steal food before you blinked. Just turned out that's what puppies do, especially cockapoos. Now he is the calmest, kindest pooch of the house who loves life (and food)."
